It feels rude to jump from summertime straight into Christmas, but that's what every little independent business is doing this week! I'm surrounded by personalised name baubles and family trees - and it's wonderful.

I've written a few different family trees over recent weeks. It's always a treat to be asked to create these. My customers have been ever so kind with their reviews as well:
"Absolutely delighted with the Tree. Thank you so much. My Mum will love it!" ~ Fiona
"Hi Claire. Just to say I'm so pleased with the Family Tree. It's really beautifully done. My parents will love it! Thank you. Kind regards. Ann"
I have some lovely custom orders in my pipelines too, for poems and quotes and calligraphy on some random but beautiful sounding things! Which reminds me: in the summer I created a small wedding gift for someone: a little lettering with an Indian-inspired floral outline in the shape of a house, all done with Egremont Red ink from Florence Mine.
Bridget was really pleased with her commission, which we'd designed together by sharing ideas over email: "It has come now and is lovely :) I really like the delicate pattern of the flowers and I think it will be just their style!"
On my desk today is a stack of black wedding place names and a poem print - Love Is A Temporary Madness from Captain Corelli's Mandolin has been very popular this summer, and this piece has sold lots of copies. (It's a favourite: I love it.)
